Born and raised in Calgary, I am a dedicated helper with a love for nature, food, and good conversation. I have always been curious about the experiences and perceptions of others and enjoy listening to people's life stories. For as long as I can remember I have felt compelled to help others and it has been through education, self-discovery, and work experience that I have found a pathway to fulfilling this purpose.
I completed a Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Victoria in 2011 and during my time on the coast I began to find myself; I discovered a love for learning, realized the joy of working hard as I trained for a half-marathon, and developed passion for yoga and meditation.
After graduation, I went on to complete Yoga Teacher Training and certification in Reiki Healing, which continues to keep me grounded and healthy in my work as a counsellor. In 2015, I completed a Bachelor of Education at St. Mary’s University to supplement my knowledge and skills in the areas of counselling and education. During this time I found it very rewarding to work with different individuals in a variety of settings including school, crisis lines, yoga classes, and community programs.
Knowing all along that I wanted to pursue a career in counselling, I began my Master of Counselling at the University of Lethbridge in 2015. During my studies, I have continued to participate in volunteer projects, such as building homes in Tijuana with the Youth With a Mission Organization and serving as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for a local non-for-profit called Creative Impact Health Foundation. I am very intrigued by the psychology of relationships, and have a strong desire to work with families and couples. When I have some time to myself, you can find me running, cooking, gardening, or in the mountains.
